The Music

From Raga to Rock

JOSHUA STANTON'S MUSIC is a synthesis of opposites. Both aesthetic and expressive, it is formal while intuitive. In performance it is classically North Indian, with odd forays into bhangra, acid jazz, and torch-rock, while in the studio it is old-school metal, ghazal-fusion, and the Millenium Skiffle Revival.

These efforts are both intellectual and emotional; explorations of tradition, and cross-applications: plays within Convention nevertheless unpenned by it.
